Rainbow 6 Jackpot Hit for $177,317 Payoff

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL
– The 20-cent Rainbow 6 was solved Sunday at Gulfstream Park, yielding a $177,317.98 jackpot payoff to the holder of the only ticket with all six winners.
The popular multi-race wager had gone unsolved for the two racing days since a lucky bettor hit the jackpot for a $288,350.74 payoff.
Sunday’s winning combination of 1-13-10-4-7-10.
The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
The Rainbow 6 will start anew on Tuesday when the sequence will span Races 5-10 on the special New Year’s Day program. First-race post time is set for 12:35 p.m.
There will also be a Super Hi-5 carryover of $3,766.84 heading into Tuesday’s program.
Who’s Hot: Tyler Gaffalione reached the 1000-win career milestone, scoring aboard Miss Marcela ($12.40) in Race 3 and Mission From Elle ($17) in Race 8. Paco Lopez also made a pair of trips to the winner’s circle aboard Delicious Pursuit ($46.40) in Race 2 and Billy Big ($10) in Race 7.
Trainer Kenny McPeek doubled with Deweycheatemanhowe ($11.20) in Race 1 and Papa’s Girl ($12.40) in Race 6.
Jockey Edgard Zayas was taken to Aventura Hospital after being unseated from his mount in Sunday’s fifth race. Zayas was to undergo surgery for a broken femur. His mount Killer Kitten collapsed on the backstretch due to a shoulder injury and was subsequently euthanized.
