South Florida’s Edwards Family Ready for Derby Magic

May 4, 2018
HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Bob Edwards and his family, longtime residents of South Florida, could be wearing roses Saturday when their colt Good Magic runs in Saturday’s 144th Kentucky Derby.

Although they entered the sport of Thoroughbred racing in 2015, they have already won three Breeders’ Cup races. The family, who races under e Five Racing and reside in Boca Raton, watched Good Magic win last year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1). After a disappointing third-place finish in the Fountain of Youth (G2) at Gulfstream, Good Magic won the Blue Grass (G2) at Keeneland in April.

Bob Edwards and his daughter Casi spoke earlier this week to Gulfstream’s host and analysis Acacia Courtney about Good Magic and Saturday’s Kentucky Derby.

Good Magic is one of nine horses in the Derby who raced at Gulfstream during the Championship Meet.
