Gulfstream to Host Florida’s Biggest Kentucky Derby Party

Nine Derby Starters Raced at Gulfstream
Audible Tries to Become Third Consecutive Florida Derby Winner to Earn Roses
Live Racing, Maker’s Mark Mint Juleps, and Extraordinary Ten Palms Buffet

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Gulfstream Park will play host to Florida’s biggest Kentucky Derby Day party Saturday with drink and food specials, live racing, and the simulcast of the 144th Kentucky Derby from Churchill Downs.

Saturday’s 20-horse Derby field will include nine horses who raced at Gulfstream, including Florida Derby (G1) winner Audible, runner-up Hofburg, Fountain of Youth (G2) winner Promises Fulfilled, Kitten’s Joy winner Flameaway, Holy Bull (G2) favorite and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) winner Good Magic, Holy Bull runner-up Free Drop Billy, maiden winners Magnum Moon and Noble Indy, and Enticed, fourth in the Holy Bull.

If Audible wins Saturday, he will be the third consecutive Florida Derby winner to win the Kentucky Derby and the fourth winner in the last six years following Always Dreaming (2017), Nyquist (2016) and Orb (2013).

First race post time for Gulfstream’s races will be 12:35 p.m.

First race at Churchill Downs is 10:30 a.m. Gulfstream’s Silks Simulcast Center will open at 9 a.m.

Gulfstream will celebrate the “Run for the Roses” with Maker’s Mark Mint Juleps in souvenir Kentucky Derby glasses for $10 at all bars. Ten Palms, overlooking the track, will feature a full buffet for $65 per person and a full carvery of three meats.
